  • Organized Event: El Mirage Dry Lake Clean-Up

There is a Clean up of El Mirage dry lake coming up on May 7th. The turn out for this has been pretty piss poor the past couple of years so we need some people!

    http://www.scta-bni.org/pdf/SpringCleanupFlyer2011.pdf

Meeting at the Visitor Center at 7:30
Cheap ($3 donation) Breakfast and FREE Lunch
    Raffle and 50/50 drawing

This is normally a use fee area, but the fee is waived for this weekend. Its a great opportunity to spend some time and explore El Mirage with out having to pay any money.

We need to keep these areas clean folks otherwise we'll lose them!

I participated last year. Had a good time. Meet some nice people. That wind was brutal. I'm gonna try and make it again, this year.
It was like that when I got here.

I'm working on a big project at Edwards AFB for the next few months. El Mirage lake bed is full of water on the West end right now. I've never seen that before. Edwards dry Lake is slam full. Pretty cool to see a lake in the middle of that desert.

From my patio I look across the desert floor and have a great view of El Mirage Dry Lake. I'll come out and pick up some trash.
