  • Trail Report: Petroglyphs and Mines

Tammy and I went out today to enjoy the great weather and do some exploring in the desert. We went to the Rodman Petroglyphs as well as several mines. We only saw a couple people the whole day.A beautiful day in the desert. We got home after dark 10 hours later, but in time to clean up and head out for Sushi. Perfect day.

This snake skin was above our heads inside the mine. Hmmm I wonder where the snake is.

              Mitch,
great pics and report. And you're right, the sunset yesterday was awsome! We were on our way home for CB on the 15 and I was having a hard time keeping on the road cuz I was so busy staring at the sunset.

There is just so much to see and explore in the Lucerne / JV area. After over 100 trips in this area alone I still see new things when I go out. Tammy had a ball and has a keen eye for spotting things, like the snakeskin in the boards, the mice, the owl we saw, and the Raptor in the tree. I still think after watching that bird fly that it was an Eagle not a Hawk. Can't tell in my bird book either way. Big wingspan. Awesome

Great report and cool trip. I love the mouse pic! Your giant buzzard is probably a hawk of some sort. Eagles have dark brown or black bellies.
