Well today was Jonah's first day on a trail with mud and snow to boot, had a great time managed to get stuck and used my winch, thanks Chuck for letting me use you as an anchor. It was muddy slippery and simply an absolutely gorgeous day. I left around 2 PM to work some more on my other Jeep and that sports now most of it's exhaust. So all in all a wonderful day.

Ooohhh Yeah! Good Times!
But I have to say Art, you have a way of mildly understating things.
The run across Cleghorn was a great way to spend a gloomy Sunday. Um, except is wasn't gloomy for long. Let me explain...
Let's start at the beginning. Wet, cold and late (late due to me and my badly running Jeep), we arrived at the trailhead off of I-15:
Starting around 10am, we climbed up through the damp, foggy trail:
Before we got to the first side trails, snow was becoming more and more prevalent. The first real challenge was a nasty mix of snow and mud:
Jonah with a big smile at the top of the first climb:
We suddenly broke out of the clouds and found ourselves surrounded with beautiful views in every direction:
Clouds rolling out of the Cajon Pass into the high desert:
The mix of snow and mud made things tougher than usual. But we helped each other through when needed.
Did I mention the awesome views? Plus, it was much warmer in the sunshine:
The wet and slippery conditions forced us into compromising positions throughout the day:
But that is the fun of it, isn't it?
One of the best spots of the day for spectacular feats of driving wasn't even a spot that is notable when it is dry:
Smottymoto made it through with open diffs and unassisted:
But his driver's side door had a reminder of the success.
Check this out.... Who needs MT or AT tires when you have LOCKERS!:
Nice driving dude! That was amazing.
This was one sweet YJ:
Sometimes you need a little help from a friend:
I was very happy with the performance of my MTR's today:
At one point, Chuck and I took a slightly different path than the rest of the crew and hit some virgin snow:
Check out the crazy articulation of his beast!:
The back half of the trail had really nice views as well:
And challenging mud and snow as well:
At the end of the trail, we had the exclusive opportunity to meet Chuckie-Who from Whoville!:
How could you possibly top a trail run like that?Last edited by Mike; 01-09-11, 09:50 PM.[COLOR=#ff8c00]MYJEEP(crawls)ROCKS(again).com
I have finally stopped drinking for good.

This was a great day and a really cool run. OP ran and wheeled like a billy goat. Jonah did a fantastic job putting that 3B together and I had a blast riding with him today.
Everybody exhibited some sweet driving skills. Hats off to everyone.
Jonah showing off early and often
Squishy, mushy fun
Roads washed out all along the trail but this was the worst of it
We went from this
To this
OP in the mountains
And of course the Mountain Dog kept everyone in line
Thanks again to jonah for the seat and occasional pulse check, and to everyone that came and made the day so much fun. Can't wait to do it again.[CENTER][COLOR=#ff0000]Resistance Off Road

I'm wondering what the conversation was right here. Even Ozz has his outriggers extended and is looking for a soft landing spot.[CENTER][COLOR=#ff0000]Resistance Off Road

Scott -- I need to follow your rig next run. You definitely can handle a jeep with open diffs - and I need some teaching! One of the last downhills I picked EVERY wrong line possible - it coulda been a "don't go this way" training video. Thanks again for all the assistance at "Woody's Door Jammer Rut n' Rock" - thanks to you too, Chuckie Who from Whoville!
