  • Trail Run: Mojave Road this weekend..Am I nuts??

    I'm new so hi everyone!
been planning this trip for months .. I've been doubtful about the trip for the past week but my friend insisted the storm would miss Mojave. Today we're set to go, but the storm is going to hit it straight on. I guess we'll stay at Avi tonight and get muddy tomorrow...

I don't see any reason to cancel or postpone the trip. Have fun!!! You will need to go around Soda Lake if it is muddy. There may be washouts on the AT&T Cable Road section of the route (mile 30). See if the MJR sticker is still visible on the flagpole at the mailbox (mile 74):

If you don't like the way I drive, stay out of the bushes!

Your main concern should be flash floods. There's no one out there to save you.

A group from Cal 4 Wheel fixed the washouts on the AT&T Cable Road about 3 years ago, and the fixes are holding.

Russ weren't you with that group?

              did it!

all the horrid weather stayed south of Victorville, Mojave was pretty dry apart from a light rain on saturday night.
we started early from Avi casino on saturday and made all the way to kelbaker road, quite a bone shaking experience..camped there the night and then decided to bypass the remainder apart from Afton canyon which was blast.
See Afton Canyon part - that place was real nice.
