  • Trail Run: White Christmas (Eve) Run

So being as my lady and I are from the Mid West we thought it'd be fun to get some folks together to do a "White Christmas Run". Being as Christmas is usually a hectic day we decided to make this a run for Christmas Eve, early in the morning so folks can still make dinners that night.

So! Here's the details, we'll figure out trails once we get up in SBNF.

    Time: 8a Meet 8:15 Depart
    Loc: Jacoby Cyn Trail Head (N34* 19.021 W116* 48.873)
Route: Jacoby Cyn to 3N16, depending on snow level and group capabilities we'll either stay on 3N16 or hit a few other runs.

I look forward to seeing everyone for a good time in the snow. Bring a lunch and some warm clothes, perhaps we'll all stop by a yellow post site and have lunch around a fire.

I'm interested, but it is still too far out for me to be sure. Work is funny this time of year.

Regardless, I'd love to go. I'll let you know.

I'm glad to hear we're getting some good interest here. Looks like a Christmas Eve and a New Years Eve could be spent well with the MJR family and doing what we all love: WHEELIN!!

New Jeep owner and new to MJR. A snowy X-mas Eve day run in Big Bear sounds great!

Meet at the trailhead off the 18 at 8am?

That is indeed the plan right now, however I think we should get a few more fold together before making the run even though it should be an easy go it's hard to say with all the rain and snow we should receive before next Friday.

                        Big delays

Just a heads up: since the eve is on Friday, its a 3 day wknd and with the snow; chains will be required. So, if you head up the 330 or 38 (especially 330) that morning, you could be looking at a 2+ hour trip just up the mtn

Good call, now let's just see if we can get the snow level to drop low enough this week for us to actually have some snow at the elevations we'd be running.

Word is that a cold front is coming wednesday, with another storm. Should get you your snow! If you haven't driven up the mtn during a busy day when chain restrictions are in effect -- you are in for a sight! I commuted up/down for over a year...all I can say? 1. Have a pleothra of tunes and 2. Hope you aint in a manual!

II don't believe in automatic Jeeps. It just seems unnatural to me. 3 pods ready to go though so we should be ready. You coming up?
