It's still closed. Work on the trail has pretty much halted for the winter. The forest service came close to opening it this last summer but decided they would give the forest another year to recover. I bet they will be taking another look next spring. If you are interested in helping on the trail you should take a look at the SBNF Adopt-A-Trail mailing list on yahoo groups.Those left standing
