• Trail Run: JV Mining Tour - Extreme

I've been wanting to do an extreme route to some of the best mines in the Johnson Valley area.

There are a couple just north of Anderson Dry Lake that either have some structure around them or go underground several hundred feet.

I've staked out a couple "short cuts" in between the mine sites that will activate those lockers and add to the adventure. There'll be plenty of 4 wheelin all day.

After visiting the 3 sites we'll head over to the Boulder Bash trail and check out the granite quarry before airing up.

I'll look up some of the history of these mines, or if Mitch comes along draw from his knowledge.

Minimum requirements: 33"s & lockers.

Sat Nov.13th
9:00 a.m.
Camp Rock Rd & Hwy 247
Bring a lunch

Hmmm, I am trying to talk myself into the Panamint Valley Days, but if I fail I'm sure up for your run. Actually sounds more interesting.

I've been gathering some historic info on these mines, so it should be like steping back into the past. Chris42 nearly sent me a book on the area, plus Mitch has lots of info as well.

Here's a little info on the mines we'll be exploring.

- The Cumberland: mined 1884-1951. Has a few artifacts.
- The Elsie: mined 1900-1940. Has a deep tunnel to go in.
- Gold Peak: a couple of tunnels to go in.
- Texas Granite quarry: interesting looking quarry with lots of drilling done there.

And of course "Arrastre Canyon" should be fun.
