On a beautiful Saturday morning about 9:30 AM. The 3 of us set out for Mottino Wash.
Josh (Snydercj7), his friends James and Brian, and myself, Scott(Dezertdog).
It was a sperm of the moment kinda thing, that Josh threw together.
Nice ride through Rattlesnake, then the fun began.
I have done Mottino a couple of times before. But this was the most fun I have had on it or any other trail so far!
Since there was just the 3 vehicles and they were okay with it, I would try to follow Josh through the lines he would take with his lifted, geared, fully armored rig.
I had my Jeep twisted, off camber, fully articulated and every other possible situation I could get into.
WHAT A BLAST!!
My Jeep continues to surprise me for how unprepared it is for what I put it through.
I made almost all of the lines i attempted. But when I got stuck... I REALLY got stuck.
James, who was driving a really bad ass Grand Cherokee on a 6 inch lift and 35's pulled me out of every situation I got myself into.
That Grand Cherokee was very impressive. And not just the vehicle, James knew how to drive it!
There is something very appealing about wheelin in leather seats with climate control. I could go for that.
Anyway, the trail took us over 3 hours to complete.
I don't think it's even 2 miles long LOL!
Then we got lost in the maze of trails that wind through the mountains behind the wash. And we stumbled on a deserted cabin, barn & 3rd building. There was also an old home built tractor. Pretty cool stuff.
Here are a few pix I took. Ran out of film before the end. James took quite a few pix, hope to see them posted soon.
Thanks a lot Josh, for throwing this together and including me. And thanks for being patient while I tested (and exceeded) my limits.
Carnage: Dezertdog - 3 bent lower control arms (2 rear, 1 front) broken rear sway bar connect. Bent tie rod and drag link. And my engine skid and belly pan need some sledge hammer!
James - slight scratch in paint on rear bumper.
(Hey Mitch, apparently I am not Dirty Harry)
Enjoy,
Scott
