On the 31st Scott in his Tj, billy in his Cherokee, Missy in her Rubicon, Carlos in his Cherokee, and I, Kevin in my weapon of choice, The Cruiser. We left early the 31st for a long awaited visit to the Dusy. Getting there Saturday evening, and set up camp;
Getting up Sunday morning and repacking the vehicles we had our first problem. While my wife was helping to load the Cruiser, she stepped down on the right rear valve stem and broke it off. What a way to start the day. An hour later we were on the move and came to the real entrance to the trail, Chicken Rock;
Which puts you on top of Courtwright Resevoir;
We headed oninto the beauty of the forest;
Some of the trail has some narrow spots;
Scott and I had to do a little rock stacking to help Carlos through with his 31's;
Unfortunatly there are no pictures of it, but damn I wish that there were. We got to Thompson Hill, when Scott informed me that I was going to have to tow Carlos up. That was a sight to see, for Carlos, as I could only see out my side mirrors, when I wasn't busy trying to get over the next obstacle. Carlos said shit was flying everywhere, and that was the fastest the ol Cherokee had ever gone. We spent the night on top of Thompson Hill. We broke camp the next morning and headed for East lake. Where we set up camp and spent a couple of days fishing, swimming, and for some working on their Jeep;
After so much time together as a family, we decided to take a family photo;
Scott caught his first fish;
We moved on to Ershim lake, and mallard Lake where we spent more time camping. On Friday morn it was time to start leaving for the end of the trail. Only five-six miles to go. How hard could it be?
Master of all;
Much needed rest;
Finally getting to the end of the trail, the girls were sad to see it end;
The End;
