I love this part of the world, but I'm not familiar with Wheeler Ridge, where is it in relation to White Mtn? While up there above Silver Canyon, did you visit Cottonwood Springs? It's a really pretty little area.

If you want specifics on Wheeler Ridge, I posted a GPX file on the GPS Mapping thread. In general, it is the mountain between the east side of the Rock Creek basin and the west side of US 395. SW of Tom's Place.

We didn't go down to Cottonwood Springs, but I am hoping to head out that side on the next visit.
