    Trail Run: 3rd (or 4th??) Annual Jacoby/3N16/3N14 Night Run

    Well, People are askin, ....So, I guess it's that time again.

    I'm planning the 3rd (or 4th??) annual easy Dusk/Night run this Friday night 7/23/10. The run goes up Jacoby Canyon to 3N16 and then on to 3N14 and back into Apple Valley. We will meet in Lucerne Valley at the Valero Station between 6:30 and 7 pm, then head to the trail head at Jacoby Canyon (6000ft level on Hwy 18) to air down. If you'd rather meet us at the trail head,... Please be there by 7:30pm.

    If you need directions to the Trail Head, ask or shoot me a PM.

    This is a nice leasurely Jeep ride up into and through the mountains and is open to as many want to join us. We usually stop several times along the trail to star gaze and mingle. Kids are more than welcome! So, Bring a snack and a sweat shirt or blanket, it can get chilly! The trip ends back in Apple Valley around midnight or so (possibly closer to 1 am). Hope to see you out there.

    I will try and keep a head count so I have an idea how many are planning to attend. So if you can, please let me know if you are attending. I'll try and post a calender event so pleople can sign up.

        Would have really loved to make this one but leaving on vacation early Sat.You all have fun and I'll check the pic's out when I get home.

              [COLOR="Blue"]Hi Scott, just a note about your trail rating,Jacoby is a BLUE rated trail,not much for some,but it is a REAL Blue rated trail for a fewI just ran it a couple of weeks ago,it's fun,but I bet real interesting at night,Have a safe fun time!

                Hey Chris,

                Thanks for correcting me. Jacoby is a Blue Rated trail. I posted this on about 4 hours sleep.... so, I'm sorry for the confusion. I have taken several totally stock Jeeps up Jacoby with no problem but, I was thinking about the run as a whole instead of just the one trial.

                Note to those "Stock Jeeps out there"....If your thinking about running this trail with us and your Jeep is Stock, You should not have a problem at all. Even though Jacoby is a Blue rated trail, it's easy by comparison to most of the other trails in the Big Bear area. We will get you through it!

                And Chris, your right about the hedge trimmer! Last time I was up there, those bushes were taking over the trail!

                  hmmmmm.......

                  ....this is one of those ones not to miss....gonna say we"ll be there, only hitch is I'm "on-call" status until Aug 1. I'll know Fri AM if we can make it......"cough, cough" ...might have to call in sick......

                        If you have to work, I'm sure that Kristy can handle the kids and the Rubi without a problem. If I need to bring an extra cigar let me know. Hope we see you both.

                          I hooked up the rock lights tonight and after cleaning the air filter tomorrow we are ready. This is always a great run!

                            Newbs...

                            Hey guys,

                            I was wondering if my buddy and I could tag along. I'm in a stockish unlimited JK and he is in a XJ with 3" and 31's. We both have tow points, straps, etc. However, neither of us have CB's or fire extinguishers. Would we be okay?

                            Also, no rock lights.
