Canyon De Chelly

The Wife and Kid joined me on a trip to the canyon de chelly in NE Arizona. AWESOME PLACE!!! we hired a Navajo guide and went into the canyon, what a day! Although the difficulty level was Easy when dry, Dry it was not and we had to deal with the water all day long! We even got stuck in the flowing river for about 30 minutes. the link shows some pictures of the place. It's not very difficult but the scenery is awesome, totally worth the lengthy trip. The campground right outside the caynon entrance is FREE so we stayed there 4 nights!

The riverbed was Clay-Mud and I sank into the mud . it was a blast regardless....

Beautiful Scenery! I say this everytime, and I'll say it again, We need to get a wheeling trip going out there!

thanks! we did have fun! from san diego, it took us 8 hours to get to Flagstaff, then another 5 or so to get to Chinle AZ (where the mouth of the canyon is). We were pulling a pop-up tent trailer so it was slow-going.
