  • Organized Event: High Sierra Poker Run

    http://www.cal4wheel.com/index.php?o...=62&Itemid=267

This is a C4wheel event. The Swamp Lake Trail is the same area as the Dusy Ershim but it is shorter. This is a really good run to go on.

Swamp Lake is a great trail! I won't be able to make it for this run, but if anyone is on the fence about this, you should opt for the 'GO' side! You will have a great time. (Bring your lockers...)

I just happen to be the co chairman this year. It would be great to get some of the MJR folks to go. You will not regret it.

I'd like to join in too if I can make it. How far in advance do you need to register?

Is there a deadline for registration or do you mean I can just show up and pay when I arrive? Not sure what life will throw my way between now and then but I'd love to be able to join in if I can get the time off.

I'll be running it the first week of August. If it's anything like the Dusy everyone that can go should. Hope we have a good turn out. You'll love the area.

Hopefully it will be open by then. still closed with no expected opening date. We wre planning a pre run the 31st and 1st but don't think we will make it. They still have snow on the trail.

                        Yep,
Been watching that closely but thanks for the heads up. Freaking crazy how long the snow has stuck around this year and last. Global warming? :bonk:

Seems hard to believe. I was up at Mammoth last weekend and there's wasn't much left anywhere

The Shaver Lake area is in a valley on the West side of the mountains so it stays in the shadow of the mountains a bit longer than Mammoth. But I'm pretty sure it will be clear by the end of the month. They opened Dusy about the middle of July last year. We went in on the 18th of July. So, fingers crossed...
