Quite a bit of difference between Sledge Hammer and John Bull. JB is a nice bunny trail and do able without lockers.

That was my thoughts Art, John Bull is a nice relaxing summer trail to get away from the heat. SledgeHammer is a trail that you would have to fight and work at.

Got room for another. I've done most of the trails in Big Bear, but have never got around to doing John Bull. Anyone from the Orange County area going up and want to caravan up?

I just want to verify the meeting location. It seems like this is one of the places the 18 and 38 meet, but I don't see a Valero there. Do you have coordinates or an address? I'm not too familiar with that side of Big Bear.

I ran this last month with NAXJA and there was more than one XJ out there with no lockers and 31s that made it. They had good rock rails and used them. I have 33s and one locker(in front) and had a ball driving it. There are many extra credit lines that are still on the trail but drastically different than the easy lines. For instance, at gatekeeper on the east end if you stay to the right you can make it up without much trouble, but the guy in front of me with Dana 60s and 38's had a bit of trouble making it up when he took the hard line to the left.

So if your lacker is too harsh on the street, can you add laquer thinner to the pumpkin and end up with a limited slip?:hide:

Hot diggity dog! Ran John Bull last month with 33's/ limited slip, once I get my Aussie up front, I should be able to win KOH this year!
An XJ will always cost you less then any girl ever will, and you will always know when the spark is gone.

thanks for the heads up. always good to see other groups and events while on trails.

Found a link to their trail run schedule. looks like they have 5 different trail runs leaving at 9am or so, one of the groups going john bull. They will probably be ahead of us, since we are meeting at 9ish.

Can I come on skinny 33s? My Jeep seems more tipsy than it used to be... I don't want to fall over sideways.

Hey guys, I'm not going to be able to make it tomorrow. I know you wouldn't be waiting for me specifically, but just to let you know I can't make it. I will have to catch you guys next time. Let us all know how it went.
