Trail Report: On the Rocks - Overlook Trail

[COLOR="Blue"]We had about 12 vehicles out for the On the Rocks /Overlook trails today. A great group and lots of fun. Everything went pretty well, just a few minor problems - such as a loose transfer case linkage on Curtis's Jeep, a broken shock mount, and a seperating driveshaft, but all in all it was a good day.

Half of the group left for home afterwards while the other half went on over to the Crazy 8 trail.

Love these trails - lots of fun to run.

On the way out I went over to the Hammerdown trail - I heard a huge rock was blocking the way....well there is a house size rock that must have come down in one of the recent earthquakes. It is blocking the original route in one section, but there is a better way around it. So it's still open, and better than before.

crazy 8 run

thanks once again for a great day mike .had fun all day and you missed the crazy 8 breakdown ,i,ll let him tell ya bout it .could of been a long day but we got lucky .good times and good people .where we going next ??????.nice meetin the new guys . hope to see ya again .

[COLOR="Blue"]I was wanting to do Hammerdown and then over to BoulderBash. BoulderBash was one of the first trails after Bullfrog. Really cool stuff over there. Most haven't run that trail yet. It's located where the Cal Rocks events are held - the north end of Cougar Buttes.[/COLOR]

I was riding shotgun with Josh (Snydercj).
Thought I would have a look before taking my Li'l Red out there. Looks challenging and a lot of fun.

I found out that one of the TJ's broke a piman arm hiem joint on the C8, but they were able to rig it well enough to get him home.

What a good day! Where are the rest of the pics? Sorry to have missed Crazy 8. Maybe next time I will be able to keep my shock mounts on the axle where they belong.

Fun run, some challenges for both driver and equipment.
I enjoyed running with everyone. Amazing trail repair on crazy 8, I thought we were going to have to call in a heavy lift helicopter.
