Last I heard was tentalively scheduled to open in April, I plan on calling the ranger station this week. Looking to do a night run after work next Friday the 6th. Will let ya know what I find out.

Now this isn't written in stone. Just what I was told from a ranger.

I was at the creek a few weeks ago on the hungry valley side. I saw them open the gates and let some crews of loggers out. I asked him when he would think it would be open. He said probably beginning of June. He said keep calling the ranger office to find out. He also said they were almost finished up there except for grading of the road.

Is a cool trail cant wait to ride it again.

I was at the Ranger Station in Lockwood Valley on Saturday and asked, "So, when are they gonna open Miller Jeep Trail?"

The response,"When we decide to unlock the gate."

I called and spoke with the Ranger Station this morning. The guy I spoke with was really cool and explained that it is actually snowing up there now and although they were hoping to have the trail opened up a couple of weeks ago, they have to wait for the snow to melt and things to dry out before opening the gate. I asked about the grading that Womb Raider mentioned and he explained that they can't do the grading until things dry out. I asked how long he expected before it would be open and he said hopefully this will be the last storm and if it warms up, it could be within a couple of weeks. Probably wouldn't hurt for us to politely call in a couple of weeks to check on the status so they know that they're are lots of folks looking forward to getting out on the trail . . . as long as were polite, it can only help as they'll probably get sick of our calls and get the gate open ASAP!!! The number is 661-245-3731. Hope to be out there with you guys soon!

Just called them up... Very nice guy! He said that it's freakin cold up there, and the snow is coming down.

                Thanks for the phone number.

Hopefully that was the last one, so surprising to get one this late in year.

Called again today . . . still no set date for the trail to open . . . the person I talked to mentioned that they are expecting another storm any day and that the trail won't reopen until they feel that we've seen the last of the storms and until the trail dries out. Bummer . . . would be fun to try it in the rain or right after! I went thru the grapevine yesterday and was hoping they'd be open soon seeing that it looked like all the snow was gone and everything was pretty dry . . . no such luck. The person I spoke with mentioned that they are hoping to have it open by Memorial Day . . . so hopefully just a couple more weeks.

I've never run this trail, but after seeing my dad's old pics and video clips of it in the mid to late 90s, and countless YouTube videos, I really want to. I'd be up for a run out there once it's open!

WTH is going on with Miller . . . last time I called they said it should be open by Memorial Day . . . called again today and the guy had no news other than to say that it's still closed and perhaps I should call back on Friday? I went thru the grapevine last weekend and didn't see any snow up in that area at all which is what I've been told a few times that they are waiting on. Anybody got any inside info on when we can get out and run this trail again?

Bummer, would be nice to have a different trail to run. Especialy since Cleghorn is no longer fun.
