What I want to know is you guys seem to have the same jeep as mine CJ - and your taking a 2 day trip and sleeping on the trail.. I run out of fuel in just 1 day of wheeling.. so what do you bring extra fuel to make it 2 days - if so how much do I need?

Where is it exactly you guys bare going? is there a map or something?

I've only got a 15 gallon tank, and I usually can go 3 days with 2 gerry cans (10 gallons total) extra, if I start the day with a full tank. If you are unsure, I would recommend about 10 gallons extra, and be sure to top off at the last gas. You will probably have gas left over, but its a little better to have too much than the alternative!

Roger, if I happen to get this weekend off, I'll be there!

Brian - We will be making numerous stops along the trail at mines, and such. We won't be hard driving like making a trip a long distance. The total run will be probably 50 miles or so. We are meeting a the Valero station in Lucerne Valley. I couldn't tell by your post if you are coming or not. If you are, plan on topping off your tank and bring 5 gallons. You may not need it, but it's good to have extra.

Steve - It would be great to have you along. I hope you can have the time off. Come to think of it, aren't you starting to get sick? I'm sure you'll be too sick to work by that weekend.

Is this acceptable for a bone stock jeep? I'm ordering a lift and tires soon but heck I doubt I could get them in and installed in 2 weeks but I would love to come a long take pictures or what not. Besides I just feel the need to get out of the @#$% city for a minute

Dan, Yes, a bone stock jeep will make it. Even if we have to drag you! (Just Kidding!)

You should have a recovery point on the front AND rear of your Jeep and a tow strap with no metal hooks, just in case.
