• Trail Run: New Cougar Buttes Trail

A few of us are going out to the Cougar Buttes in JV to break in a new trail. The trail needs a few small rocks rolled of the track and one large rock winched out of the way. It's about an hour and a half long and in a new area.

The rating of the trail will be the same as the Cakewalk/Bullfrog trails.

From there we'll run a few new sections added to the existing trails out there. One new feature will be a "bypass" to the "tip-over challenge".....well maybe bypass isn't the right word.

Sat March 13th
Camp rock rd & 247 @ 9:30 am
Min Requirements - 33's @ lockers.
Bring a pair of gloves.
If anyone has a chain or old tow strap to bring would be cool.

Wow another easy trail by Mike K! Should be a lot of fun. Is this near "JAWS"? Tied up on Saturday or I'd be there. And we all know that you don't know what a "by-pass" is. LOL

What are the specs of your vehicle. Your picture looks like a Tahoe. If so you'll be leaving paint on the rocks.

No this one is on the south/east end. We'll take the dirt Rabbit Springs Rd eastward to the end.

Darn, I would like to go.........but like Kurt and Chuck, I am in the midst of a major link/coilover upgrade. Hopefully, I will be finished soon and can get back on the trails.

Count me in Mike.

PS... Mike, do you think there will be a need for a small trailer to haul stuff in or out?

i think its a similar size to a tahoe but its a toyota 4runner(about same size as late 90's tacomas. maybe about the size of a cherokee sport). 33" tires, locked F/R, most of the belly is armored as well as the bumpers and sliders. duran, odessa, arts fire road, dishpan, john bull, miller jeep tail....just havnt been around for a cakefrog run yet. let me know if theres some spots your planing on that the truck physically wont go. rock kisses are fine.

here she is taking the silly showboat line at cleg but its the best, recent, pic i have ATM:
