Trail Run: Cakewalk

Thinking of doing Cakewalk if it doesn't rain. Meeting at Hwy 247 and camprock rd. at 9:30 am Saturday.

You can camp all over the cougar buttes area. There are some awesome spots tucked back in the rocks where the dirtbikes are unlikely to race thru.

So this is all open area with no specific camp areas? Is this the same area as Johnson Valley? I have never been out there so forgive my silly questions.

[COLOR="Blue"]Cougar Buttes is part of the Johnson Valley OHV area. Camping is free and open to camp where ever you want. The Cougar Buttes area is a beautiful granite outcrop simular to Joshua Tree NP. The Trails are intertwined through out the Cougar Buttes.

The rain does put a nice twist to cakewalk. The rocks get a little slick.
