  • Trail Report: Alvord Mine

This morning we met up in Apple Valley for a run out to the Alvord Mine. Mike K and Mike (Deepwater) both have gone here recently and posted some great photo's so we wanted add this awesome mine to our list. Dennison and I met Dave (Flatpoint) and Courtney, Scott and Lesa (avjeepfreek), and Josh and Tamara in their armored and lifted on 35's Rubicon. We cruised out old Route 66 from Victorville to Barstow and then to Harvard Road. We headed north on Alvord Road to the mine area. This mine was started in 1881 and worked on and off till 1952. Lots to explore both in the mine tunnels and the area.

Thanks everyone for the fantastic day!

Dennison checking out the cabin. Somebody had recently swept out the floor and it was very clean.

Now this part was concerning..... If Lesa has the head of the puppy, then what is Scott doing????

    WTF?

Now Scott is trying to remember if he washed his hands before grabbing the sandwich!!!!Too Funny!

                      Courtney,

Great job with the black and white pictures. It changes the textures. And thanks for showing that function on my own camera. I have only taken 9,600 pictures and I don't now what functions my camera has! Good seeing you and nice job on the rocks.
