Some friends from ExPo and my family ran Nightmare Gulch yesterday. It was very wet, but lots of fun. The snow was beautiful.
The good news is that "Exit Hill" is no longer officially required. There are new signs posted at the north end at the top of Opal Canyon that indicate that the trail formally and officially goes all the way through. Hurrah! A trail got OPENED! How often do you get to hear that these days!
After Nightmare, we headed up to the east and ran along the ridge line towards the Dutch Cleanser talc mine, which is very cool to visit if you've never been, though a bit hard to find! We were cutting fresh tracks in a light layer of snow much of the time. The weather was near 60 and sunny, no wind. We were wearing t-shirts. It was awesome. As we exited out on EP15 we came across some puddles...that turned out to be pretty darn deep!
