This trip is still a go. Latest forecast is for 30% chance of light showers on Saturday. I plan on leaving Norco on Friday around 1pm. The only reason I would cancel is if I hear a NOAA advisory about desert flash flooding.

There is a NOAA advisory for the San Diego deserts and I am canceling the trip.

well... when you reschedule i hope to make it. i was foiled in my attempt over xmas due to poor prep and planning. i've been wanting to do this with the wife for awhile and going with others seems like the way to go. see you then.

OK. No problem. I was starting to wonder how fun this hike would be in the rain anyway.

Its currently raining in Imperial county.
Would have been a slippery muddy mess.
Though would have been cool to Carizo gorge flooded....

I run a weather page on my website for Imperial Valley. The info is picked off the El Centro NAS...for those of you visiting the valley HERE

I'd go, but I don't like venturing out into hikes like this without a little bit of research or planning...

LOL, I'm always amazed at how much info FishPoet compiles...by any chance, do you do taxes?

One of the links Fish posted had a sublink with some pretty good photos of the hike. Looks way more interesting that typical SoCal scrub. http://www.anzaborrego.net/travel/An...stle_2004.aspx
