  • Trail Report: New Years Run 2010

When I asked Shari what she wanted to do for New Years, a big smile came across her face as she reached into her dresser and pulled out a brochure for a weekend spa retreat. Within a few minutes she already had day one planned out, starting with a full body scrub, then a milk creme nourishing soak, followed by an aromatherapy bath and finally finishing with a full body massage. We both felt the spa would provide the perfect physical and emotional barrier from the outside world, offering a setting for peaceful rejuvenation. But wait a minute! Hold on just a second!! NO CUCUMBER SLICES FOR MY EYES!!!

Wednesday evening when we got to Johnson Valley it was blowing like a SOB. We quickly set up, poured a couple of stiff cocktails, settled in and watched a DVD we've seen at least three time before.

Thursday morning, first Steve, then Matt, and then Dave pulled into camp. After everyone was set up we all got together and wisely decided to run a trail that none of us had run before. But hey, with a name like "Full Of Love", how bad could it be anyhow? I'm still editing day one and will post later.

We decided to start day two off a little slower.

I don't know how Shari shoots video and takes pictures at the same time. I like this picture she took of you. I know you're looking for a new name for your Jeep, and I thought because it's green and it sticks so well, we could call it "Booger".

The only way out of Full Of Love.

There's almost always an open seat.

After Backdoor we continued up Resolution.

Wow, a published commitment. You're on.

Rich, Shari and I keep hoping to see you and Corkey out there.

Well YouTube is being typical Youtube and not loading the larger fills, so I'll post them out of sequence.

The Rover driver, Dave, was fond of say "More Cowbell", Which apparently meant to hit it harder. This is a section of FOL.

Steve said it was a 2.5l diesel engine hence the black smoke on backdoor

The owner said it was out of a different Rover, and was built up to 150 hp and 280 tq.
