Trail Report: Mojave Trail

A small group from Expedition Portal ran the Mojave Trail last weekend. We had a great trip. I posted the photos on my Photo Gallery site (86 images on SmugMug).

How cold was it at night at this time of year?

A balmy 53 degrees at Mid Hills (1st night), 56 degrees near Soda Lake (2nd night). We had great weather.

Nice Pics Nathan! I really like the Mojave Trail. It doesn't look like you explored the Caruthers Cyn on this run, that is one of my favorite stops for camping.

LOVE trail. for poops and giggles myself and a group of prerunners ran it from laughlin to barstow in 5 hours hahaha.

Actually no, not this time. With the shorter daylight hours, we elected to set up camp earlier and play around rather than drive another hour or so west of the Lave Tubes and set up in the dark. We camped up against the lava flow before you cross the paved Mojave Road, east of the range of hills before you cross the plain towards Soda Lake and Cowhole Mtn.

Ran that trail from Afton Cyn to Avi 10-15, & 16-09. Great weather. Camped 2 mi east of Marl Springs by the bolders. Really love that ride. Easy but beautiful, always something to see.
