  • Trail Discussion: 2N90 Tip Top Mountain

to those who have driven this road/trail.
Is it doable/passable for a stock 2005 Dodge 1500 4x4 truck ? big rocks, ground clearance problems ?
    (good, experienced off road driver)
searched, and is it a black diamond trail ?
    any info appreciated

It's been ages since I ran Tip Top, but most of it is ok for a truck like that. If I remember right the summit might be a little difficult. But it's been hree years, so it's changed a ot I'm pretty sure.

[COLOR="Blue"]I just took my stock Jeep Liberty up there a month ago with no issues. I'm sure a 4x4 pick up would have even less issues. Tip Top isn't a 4x trail, but mainly an unimproved mineing road.

Tip top is not a difficult trail, Just narrow. I took my F-150 with 33's and small lift up it in the beginning of last summer with no problems. I was up there again a few weeks ago in a stock wrangler. You will need 4x4 but it will not be a problem. My sugestion would be to stay on the main trail. Do not take any of the other splits because they a lot more narrow.

I was just up there in August. It is no problem with any 4x4 unless you are allergic to shelf roads.

I was told the truck made it all the way to the top, to the powder magazine and the slab.
                Thanks for the accurate info.
