  • Trail Report: Ohau area and Tasman Glacier New Zealand

Lots of really nice scenic 4wd tracks aroud the Ohau area. We explored up the Ahuriri River where native beech forest hits grassland in a very Middle Earth looking way. Easy going except a couple of wash outs but these were still fine in the stock truck. Stopped in at the Tasman Glacier on the way home, fantastic views after a short climb.

Wow! If it wasn't for your Jeep in those pics, I'd swear that you stole those from some on-line service for Middle Earth pics. Those photos rock!

Sharon and I really need to get to NZ again. You didn't take us to any of these places during the last visits.

      I really love this shot:

I have finally stopped drinking for good.
Now I drink for evil.....

              Hey Mike,

The mountain in the middle of the pic you pulled across is Mt Cook, the tallest in New Zealand. Very rare to actually be able to see the top as it is normally completely covered in cloud.

There look to be some really nice tracks around this area and Liz and I are looking forward to checking them all out- close enough to home that we can do one in a weekend

You know you guys are always welcome and the same to any other MJR members who can make it down here
