Did a run on the back side of Big Bear Saturday afternoon. Ran the 'Clarks Summit' run out of the Charles Wells 'So Cal Backroads' book. Went out with my buddy and his Rover Disco I series.
The route we took was -
Starting on 1N45 across the street from the South Fork campground on HWY 38.
NW on 1N45 to the 1N04 intersection.
NW on 1N04 to 2N06.
N on 2N06 to 2N10.
W on 2N10 to 1N54.
S on 1N54 to Seven Oaks Rd.(paved)to Glass Rd, south back to HWY 38. We ended up about 4 miles W of our starting point.
I rated it moderate because that's how the book has it rated. Its not really to bad though. A little rocky in a couple of spots, but that's about it. A regular 4x4 can run this trail no problem. below is my shutterfly link and some pics here to check out. I have a Goggle Earth KMZ file also, but do not see how to post it.
Thx, Kurt T.
