My daughter and I ran this yesterday.

There are lots of these trees up there.

Overlook

We had a great sunset after a heavy rain. BTW it was 60 degrees up there. I hate living in the mountains. LOL

Mike,

I just got back from Heartbreak Ridge, day #2! OMG!!! The big one is incredible! I'll post some teaser pictures with no other info.

Whoever goes on this trip with Mike is going to have a ball. Wow!

Thanks again for the help finding this. I was 20 feet away yesterday.

Mitch

Planning on being there w/ my son. We might have to cut out early if it turns into a long day though.

Now that you mentioned it John, With the size of the group, I'm going to have to do a time schedule to keep from going too late. Does anyone have an Indiana Jones whip I can crack when it's time to move on. Or maybe someone else can be a volunteer to do that. LOL

So far I have put together about 8 pages of typed notes on the SBNF history. So if there are any insomniac's going I may be able to cure you. Just a heads up.

Since we're going into a remote part of the SBNF...
A few things needed to keep the group moving on the trail.
Make sure your vehicle is in good working order. The trail will be a rough road most of the way. The trail is approx. 30 - 35 miles in length, not counting the 30 miles of hwy. from BBDC to BBDC. The terrain is mostly rocky.

Needed:
Tires in good condition.
Full size spare.
Full tank of gas.
In between snacks.
Plenty of water.
CB (if you can bring one) it will be very helpful for the naration, and directions.

We'll air down at Cactus Flats & Hwy 18 at 10:00 am.
I'm estamating being at highway 38 @ Onyx Summit around 6:00 pm.

If there are any who need to leave earlier, there are a couple vehicles that will be leaving the trail around 4:00 pm.

This may be a record crowd - besides the 45+ we had on the Bullfrog last winter.
