Looks cool. I used to build and launch rockets when I was a teen. Had a bunch of them, most were less than 24" long though.

      Jim,

I'm thinking that due to the large growing response via PM and the post that a trail run after the Rocket launch will suit a trail like Rattlesnake Canyon. The trips to local mines are better for groups of 5 or less vehicles due to parking and turn around space. It still will be a easy/moderate run and family based. I'll get Sarah to set up a SIGN UP.

            Hey guys and gals,

Mitch just called me and said his computer is down at the moment and he wont get it back from the shop for a few days. So, He's has asked me to monitor this thread. If you all have any questions either ask them here on the thread or shoot me a PM and I'll try and answer them best I can. Any questions I cant answer, I will get an answer from Mitch and post it up. Mitch did say he will try and get to a computer if he can but, it's going to be limited.

If your planning on going, He'd ask that you sign the roll call at the top of the thread (page 1) so we can keep track of the number of Jeeps and People going.

            6 Jeeps so far!!!

Please let me know if you have any questions and check back for further updates!

            Thanks, Scott

Would we be running only rattlesnake and jacoby? I have a stock jk, but I have done rattlesnake before with no problems. I did jacoby last weekend also with no problems. Does the plan include checking out the mining areas in rattlesnake canyon?

                  Ron,

I assume Mitch's computer is still down. In his first post, he said he will be at the rocket launch site at 9:00 AM. Here's the directions:

Come to Lucerne Valley on Hwy 18 and go to the 4-way stop at Hwy 247

                  Go north towards Barstow.

A few miles north, you will come to Lucerne Dry Lake.

There's a sort of road to the west that will take you to where all the rocket launch area is. You won't miss it.

I plan on topping off my gas tank at the Valero Station around 8:30 AM. If anyone wants to, I can wait there for them and we can go together to the launch site. Let me know.

But it's pretty easy to find the rocket launch site.

                    Hey Chris,

I"m not sure about running Jacoby Cnyn, Mitch didn't say but, it's right there at the end of the trail and I guess if some wanted to finish off with that, you wouldn't have to twist my arm! I'm always up for a run up Jacoby! I'm sure Mitch has some mine exploring planned for the area! He was telling me of several cool spots up there!

                    Ron,

Like Roger said, the Valero is a great place to meet. You can gas up and get stuff if you forgot it! I should be there at about 8 or 8:15 and I'm pretty sure that Mitch will be there too. Mitch mentioned that we will all meet at the Launch site at 9 AM and be there about an hour to an hour and a half or so, then head out about 10:30 to be at the trail head at Rattlesnake by 11 AM.

                    Roger,

Thanks for the directions to the launch site and Monitoring this thread too! Mitch's computer is still down as far as I know. Lesa & I will meet you at the Valero. Getting off work at 7 AM that morning so I might be running a bit late! (Got stuck working an overtime shift, Yeah me!!)

                    See ya, Scott
