  • Trail Report: Do R Die - Trail marker run

[COLOR="Blue"]We had a great run out at the Cougar Buttes. About a dozen or so vehicles attended. The weather was unusually good for this time of year.

We ran a mixture of the Cakewalk and Bullfrog trails and planted the BLM trail markers. Since we were in the area we decided to pre-run some of the Do R Die obstacles. These turned out to be totally cool challenges.

I want to say thanks to Fred and Barney, Tony and Nathan and Curtis for their help in the work. There's a lot of new good stuff to run next fall season.

Pictures show some of the new material. No names yet though.

BTW Tony's looking for one 35" BFG M/T that holds air.

Yep, it was a fruitful day. Work and fun with beautiful weather.

Thanks to steve (barney1),helped me out with his spare after I cut a sidewall. His spare was more functional than mine! Thanks Steve!

Here's a couple of pics at work and with the particular tools we used:

Great photo's guys. Fred is getting high tech with the photo posting! Sorry I missed this by going on an easy run and taking it easy on the Jeep. I'd like about half of the rear travel on the Nissan Truck on my Jeep. Good job at Mike's Off-Road Park.

I had a great time. Thanks for the public invite Mike. I enjoy these runs more when they are shared, rather than when they are just posted after the fact!

After Bullfrog, Curtis led Fred, Steve and myself up to Onxy Peak in Big Bear for a short afternoon/evening run. Very pretty:
