• Trail Report: Moab Off-beat

We had a great time in the Moab area this year. Instead of the traditional trails we decided to do some of the lesser traveled off-beat trails. To be honest, this was one of the best trips ever.

The trails we ran:
- Elephant Hill
- Cane Creek
- Monitor & Marimac
- 3D
- Spring Canyon Bottom / Hey Joe Canyon
- Onion Creek / Fisher Towers
- Kokopelli Trail
- Hell's Revenge

I give all of these trails an A+ rating. Hey Joe a C though, too much slapping brush.

Mike,

Thanks for the great photo's. Moab is a very unique place. I used to mountain bike there everyyear for several years. We started in the La Sal Mountains in the snow and would ride 45 miles through Onion Creek and the Fisher Towers and end at the Colorado River. Lots of memories from Moab. Did you have the Atomic Wings?

Mike,

nice pictures. The Moab area is one of our favorites. Every direction you point the camera is another wonderful view.

Did you get to Bobby's Hole? I have never been able to find a good photo or description online for it. I tried to run it last year, going north from Blanding into Moab, via Dark Caynon/Beef Basin/Elephant Hill routes, but it was March and there was 4 feet of snow on the ground. Doh!

Thanks for the pics. This is my first year missing going to Moab in 6 years so it hurts bad seeing those shots. Oh well, maybe I'll make it next year.

KJ's have been all over Moab over the last few years. Tripple Whammy, Kane Creek, HR, Metal Masher, up Potato salad hill, etc, etc.

So yeah, those and plenty of other trails in Moab are KJ trails.

We didn't get down that far, I would suppose that it would be passable by an experianced driver with a decent rig. I think the park service rates trails mainly for SUV type vehicles.

Simply an amazing area! Great slideshows!

I've got to go someday. It looks like there is plenty to do for my "less built" Jeep.

Your Jeep would do fine on all these trails, but your camera would sure get a good work-out.
