  • Trail Run: Friday Stoddard Valley & Sawtooth Canyon

This morning I met with Chuck (dirtman13) and his dad in his 95YJ at the locally famous Slash X Cafe sorth of Barstow on Hwy 247. We were going to drive over to the Rodman Petroglyphs but in the first hour of camping this morning one of the guys had wiped out on his quad and broke his leg. So a hospital trip and a changed agenda. Instead we cruised around the Stoddard Wells area then crossed east of Hwy247 and went to the "New Deal Mine". We explored for awhile then continued a loop back to OM6640 (SV183) and headed west and back across Hwy 247 to check out Sawtooth Canyon. We drove around for a little bit and then Chuck treated us to some of his antics (you know - wheel in the air, lay it on it's side.....). This was a nice easy couple hour run. Chuck needs to touch up some paint and once again will be whole, unless something happens tonight on the night time Pumpkin Eater run!

Too bad about the broken leg. Sounds like you had a good day regardless.

Hey Chuck! Why does your Jeep get so tired and lay down so much lately?

Chuck you need a couple of casters on the rollcage so the laying on its side bit won't slow you down

It was great to see you again. I had a fun day just wandering around. We will hook up again soon. The petroglyphs are a must see place!
