    2009 Dakar Rally USA TV Schedule

    Buenos Aires, Argentina (December 31, 2008) - The 2009 Dakar Rally, which takes place between the 3rd and 18th of January, is scheduled to be broadcast in 189 countries. Interest is set on the 530 participants competing for ultimate glory, and everyone’s attention will be on the rivalry between the factory teams of Hummer, Volkswagen, Mitsubishi and X-raid-BMW.

    Eighty TV channels are set to cover the Dakar Rally with 16 TV channels traveling the complete rally over 9,500 kilometers through Argentina and Chile. Over 800 journalists are registered and accredited and 125 daily newspaper copy editors on behalf of 96 international publications following this huge international event during its 14 daily stages.

    Thanks for the reminder, almost forgot about it. Unforntunately the TV coverage sucks compared to a couple years ago. The daily updates use to be an hour long with lots of racing action. Now they are basically five minutes for each catagory with lots of commercials.

      Yeah it's like Nascar, or Planet Earth... suppose its better than nothing.
      I'd like to go in person next year...would any one want to go to Buenos Aires or Chile? I'd like to drive... but maybe freight and meet the Jeep? ...I'm dreaming, but it would be cool...

            I'm surprised that nothing has been said about this on any of the TV coverage. Might lead one to believe that there might be an ongoing investigation.
