        Curtis,

Thanks for the pics. Do you have any more of me (yellow TJ)?

We had a great time yesterday. We can't wait to go back with a small group.

Hi Willard it all depends how well you wheel, Mr Bash runs the same setup and ran the trail without to much problem but then he does very well with open diffs

                Curtis,

Sorry that I didn't get to see at the beginning of your run. I visited with Max and Scott for a liitle bit, followed a small group thru the rocks near Bullfrog for a couple of hours, then went with Dave (Flatpoint) to a private propery spot several miles away to do some shooting. Awesome turnout Saturday despite the wind. I'm still trying to get all of the sand out of my ears.

Yep, I thought it was a good turn out. Every little bit helps when you participate and donate in any event that helps to keep our lands and trails open Met Jeff and his wife, ran into Max and Scott and met alot of other fine folks out there Great time; except when I was getting a face lift through sand blasting! lol...

Very kool pix, sorry I missed you guys. We road on two wheels on saturday, did the blue loop with my son. by the time the sun went down my ass was frozen and I was ready to go home.
We hung around for the raffel, won some stuff and shivered all the way home. I kinda feel like a sissy type girley man for leaving a day early but i didn't feel like sitting in the trailer all night instead of sitting around the fire.
Did it ever rain on saturday night?

send your letters, but remember if it were not for them doing what they do, we would not be able to do what we do.

If the USMC starts doing what they do on this unit of land, then we won't be doing what we do anymore.
In fact we support the USMC! There is no issue there. What we are asking as a collective of off road recreationalists including pro rock-crawlers, D37, weekend wheelers, paragliders, prospectors, rock hounds, r/c'ers and desert racing is a win win situation.

I described these very same points to LTCol James McArther, USMC the Deputy Exercise Plans Officer. I held out my hand and thanked him for his service, before he spoke at the event. During our conversation the LtCol enthusiastically responded that there is a need to preserve the good land that we have exercised excellent stewardship upon. I explained that the volunteer work alone lead by Chuck Shaner of VV four wheelers started nearly two decades ago has helped create the Hammer trail system literally rock by rock.

There is more to Johnson Valley than just the Hammer trails, I personally have a secret camping spot in Johnson Valley that I have been going to for almost ten years. I explained that I wanted my daughter to be able to experience what I have been able to enjoy. There are two race courses, sand dunes, dry lake beds, Cougar Buttes, mines, local business revenue from off road traffic and millions of dollars generated by filming on location in Johnson Valley annually.

A few weeks ago LTCol James McArther commandeered a helicopter and did a fly over Johnson Valley. The LTCol stated that he was amazed at the amount of trails that criss cross the desert floor, and the little cities of motor homes and off road vehicles that expanded from end to end of the 200,000 acres of JV open riding area. He is scheduled to take a dedicated 4x4 trip in Johnson Valley soon and plans to camp over night. The LTCol stated he would take all the information to Washington this week and report what the LOCAL situation is. He seems to be our advocate, and I was impressed by his sincere interest in our concerns.

There are many negative things that will compound if we do not stand together and work together. For instance if this land is withdrawn from public use where will all the thousands of off road enthusiasts go? Answer-They will start over crowding and over using other much smaller OHV areas! This is just the tip of the ice berg folks.

We are asking the USMC to go east. This should be a part of your vocabulary from now on as you speak to your friends, relatives, Congressman, and President.

Look... cutting to the chase Hondatom, your not providing solutions. God certainly has a plan, I don't think it involves compromising our nations safety. Nor would it behoove us to ignore our nation's safety or security. I do however think if Jesus were here he would ask the Marine Corps to "Go East" and train for war.

I will be in contact via email with the LTCol and will provide any updates as I receive them. Merry Christmas, and good night.

                              Max,

Excellent points! I'm glad that you are on "our" side. I'm very thankful for our armed forces that protect our country, I just hope they head east away from OUR designated public lands.
