Bickel camp, Last Chance canyon

On jan 3rd and 4th there will be a work party to repair the roof of Walt's
cabin at Bickel camp in Last Chance canyon CA. This is an historic depression era mining camp one of the last of it's kind. The roof was damaged in a storm and new roofing has been donated by the BLM. The old roofing needs to be stripped off and replaced. It's not a big place so I don't see it taking too long.
We have roofing and lap cement, nails and a couple of larders.
afterwords there will be a pot lock dinner.
If you have not been out here here is your chance to see Last Chance Canyon here some good story's see the sites and be apart of the living history that is Bickel camp theirs no place else like it.

This would have been great, but I'll be at Calico on the 13th. I've heard a lot about Bickel Camp and would like to see one day. Sounds like a good project, especially if the BLM is supporting it.

It is a fantastic area with Bickel Camp and Burro Schmidt Tunnel, cabins to stay at plus miles and miles of trails. plus hunting for gold if you like
