I met Mr Bash today for a Tuesday trip to the Cougar Buttes area of Lucerne Valley. The weather was perfect all day. We were in t-shirts at noon and never had a drop of rain. I had a hour head start so I searched the area for the "Bullfrog" trail. I did not find this trail but had fun checking out all of the nooks and crannies of the rock piles. I think that I know where to look next time for BF. Shant showed up and we jumped right in on a couple of tracks that I knew about. Next we headed to the area that the actual Rock Crawler runs are held. We both got the Jeeps tilting and had a ball looking for the next challenge. Mr Bash is a natural in the rocks! After trying to get stuck (we didn't) we headed to the special shooting range (on private land) to blast a few rounds. We pulled up to the shooting range and started unloading the toys and getting everything set up. When I turned around, Shant had a grill going and started dumping marinated chicken and mushrooms on it. This was perfect. Go out Jeeping on the rocks, go shooting, and have someone (Mr Bash) make some Armenian Grilled chicken. We ate grilled chicken and took turns blasting targets with the .45's, .357, and the 30.06!
All in all another great day. It seems that for those that are lucky to have a place local to go play, you can do it for a couple of hours or all day and have a great time.
Thank you Mr Bash!
