  • Organized Event: D37/BRP Fun Run to Save Johnson Valley

    Quote from D37:
Dec 13-14, 2008 District 37 & BRP will be hosting a Fun Ride at Cougar Buttes. We also have invited Dave Cole with the Friends of Johnson Valley & Tin Benders to come out and make this a joint event with D37 & the Rock Crawling community. Right now we are in the planning stages of the event. With the help of John Gil as the loop coordinator we are working on creating loops for all skill levels from AA – Novice riders. We would like to develop a loop for our younger riders as well. Any person or club that would like to help in organizing these loops can contact John Gil.

The purpose of this event is to have an opportunity for the members/family of D37 & the Rock Crawling community to learn more about our fight to Save Johnson Valley/Military base expansion. D37 realizes that many of our members can not attend the monthly meeting in Brea where this information is discussed. With that thought in mind we are going to have tents set up in case of bad weather where we can have lunch, listen to speakers and gather information on how each of us can help with the fight to save Johnson Valley.

The tentative agenda is a Morning Ride then return for Lunch and an Afternoon Ride. We really want this to be fun and informative weekend for all members of D37/Rock Crawling community. So please leave this weekend open on your calendar. Show your support for Johnson Valley. Bring your family, friends and neighbors out for a fun time in the desert.

This is very cool Julie. My two favorite past times together. I used to race D37 and the kids races were a blast to watch. This will be on my calendar. Thanks
    Check out .

I have something to attend Saturday, but plan on being there Sunday.
It is going to be huge and there will be a lot of the "pros" out there in support of this!

                Julie,

I'm goning to try to be there either Saturday or Sunday.

How late will it be happening on Sunday?

Will there be events that spectators can watch?

                      Thanks Julie,

I know you are the best when it comes to posting information, so I'm sure you'll keep us all updated as you get more information.

I think I'll pass this information on to the editor of the Lucerne paper. She wants to know about these kinds of activities.

I will be there with a group of about 20 bikes, quads,m Rhinos, and maybe even a jeep or two.

But do we stand a chance in stopping this military land grab?

Just a bump for folk. I think that the day you really want to attend is Saturday. That is when most things will be happening.

You could use some optimism in your perspective. To bring you up to speed, there are enormous efforts from more than several well organized groups in full motion to find a solution to this issue. I am sure you will meet many well informed, solution oriented folk at this event. To Help Save Johnson Valley, write a letter and join a group like PFJV, FOJV, FOGR, Blue ribbon Coiltion, or Corva to name a few.
                              Happy Trails.
