Trail Run: PeteyG's 8th Annual Pre-Turkey Day Truckhaven Fun Run

Wow! 8th Annual. Who would have thought this would carry on for so long. But last year's get together was the BEST EVER, and this year promises to be more of the same!

This year's run will be held over the weekend of Nov. 21st - 23rd, so mark your calendars!

We will be camping in pretty much the same spot as we did last year. There's plenty of room for RV's, campers, quads, bikes, Jeeps, Toyotas, Broncos, etc.

As always, there will be a pot-luck on Saturday night. Bring your favorite dishes and come prepared for a good time!

A little bit about ground rules. There are none...

This is NOT an organized event; more like a big get-together in the desert with a bunch of folks who like to wheel. We WILL be going wheeling. I may even be in front most of the time, but don't expect an organized pre-defined trail, or trail-leader/tail-gunner combos, or drivers meetings, or vehicle inspections. We're going to go out and find fun stuff to play on, and then come back and have a helluva campfire with fun, music, possibly even sobe bombs. I just wanted to get this out up front, because I know this is not everyone's cup of tea.

That said, this will be an awesome good time! Start planning now!!!

Nice! I'd love to go but a bunch of us are doing Tday in Death valley. But that gathering of yours looks great! Have fun and Happy Tday!

I am pretty sure I am up for some fun for either friday or saturday. The 2 days after turkey day, any idea what time you'll be leaving camp? Oops, it pays to read the whole thing, still interested in attending on Saturday and or Sunday

If so, there is a long shot chance for me to be able to meet you guys on Friday night and play on Saturday. I'll have to wait until it is a little closer to know or not. I'd love to tour Truckhaven with someone that knows the area.

I might be down for this as well. I haven't done Truckhaven yet.

We'll be at truckhaven over thanksgiving, it's an awesome place for all types of off roading, jeeps, buggys, quads, bikes, rhinos or whatever. It gets a little busy on weekends, you just have to watch out for the occasional idiot. We'll be going with a couple jeeps, and a baja bug and a bunch of bikes and quads, probly 5 or 6 families. Lots of good fun, food and a little partying after dark.

Yes, the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. Come on out. You'll have a lot of fun!

The history on this run is that I used to be a member of a certain Inland Empire 4 Wheeling club, and they would have a huge club run over the Thanksgiving weekend, usually out of state. There was a decent number of us who were unable to leave town that weekend due to other family obligations, so I started putting this together for everyone that couldn't go over Thanksgiving. It just kinda grew from there. It's always a fun time.

It's still going. I'm heading out next Thursday afternoon. Most folks will roll in Friday night.
