Trail Report: Pro Rock / Cougar Buttes

Headed out to the "Pro Rock" crawler event at Cougar Buttes this morning. I met friends Justin, Wyatt, Pat, and Patrick for breakfast at the Hesperia Airport (Mile High Cafe). We ate and then cruised to Lucerne and thru to the event off Hwy 247 and Camp Rock Road. There was a nice sized crowd and the temps and weather were awesome! Might have hit 78'/80', and not a cloud in the blue sky! There was several events going at the same time so you could walk from one to the other and catch Buggies, Pro Rock Crawlers, as well as modified Jeeps. A lot of action and a lot of roll overs to keep it exciting. I saw Kevin (Toyota Landcruiser), Josh (Tombraider), and I think "Double G". Looked for the "Desert Jewel" but a no show today. We watched the action for a couple of hours and cruised to the Play Area for an hour of posing and screwing around. Some bystanders might have thought we were crawlers, but we know otherwise!!!

weather was awesome today. I figured it would be blazing hot, but was not.

More people were there than what I thought would show.
I enjoyed the show put on by the buggy thing-a-majings.

Got to see some carnage but wanted more.

Hey Dave,

While you were camping and making a nice oatmeal to keep you and your girl warm this morning, some of us went wheeling. And my old 88YJ isn't afraid of getting scatched. Oh, I know you want some under protection, like skid plates, gas tank skid, diff skids, tummy tucker ....and some tube fenders.... Oh yea I forgot that you have a girlfriend instead. Miss you on the trail Dave, but I won't sleep with you anymore! Ha!!!!! You are on your own.

Josh wish I could have seen you guys there. Me and the wife were there a couple hours on Sat. and a few more on Sun. But we had spent the weekend at Big Bear. Had alot of fun watching those rock buggies and did a bit of playing around in that area. So I hope you got them axles in already.
(Obviously I had a bit of a problem putting up more pics)
