  • Trail Discussion: Camping in Eastern Sierras - Rock Creek

I don't know if this should be somewhere else. But I wanted to share the beautiful country up there. We didn't take the Jeep this year (because it won't fit in the trailer) but my wife will be driving it up next year. Lot's of trails I want to explore.

Could have stayed longer. We were there for 11 days.

Here is the Site. 114 in East Fork.

    The Knuckeheads

    Fishing the Owens

    Breakfast of Champions

Hiking down from Rock Creek Lake

Mosquito Flats Hike - about 4 lakes back

    Of course - Schat's

    Top of Mammoth

Rock Creek Lake - Early in the Morning

Hike down the falls into Twin Lakes

    Fishing at Rock Creek

    Can't wait to get back.

Holy-moly! You got to stay there for 11 days? It must have been hard coming home! Looks like you had quality time with your family. Those boys will remember that trip all their life!

Great photos, but I think I would not have hiked up to anything called Mosquito flats! Maybe that's like the whole Iceland/Greenland thing, where its named the opposite to ward off invading Vikings?

Yep, very hard coming home. For the first week back, I kept asking myself why am I living here.

I was up there in late June. Hiked from Mosquito Flats to Gem Lakes. This is my favorite area of the Sierra's. Gotta love the 10,200 ft elevation trail head!

Man I gotta get up that way! Beautiful! No doubt your kids will always have fond memories of a trip like that.
