  • Organized Event: KOPL (Kids On Public Lands) 9/20-21

KOPL (Kids On Public Lands) is great program to bring & teach the less fortunate children in our community about the forest and mountains via a Jeep ride. You can find all the info to volunteer thru the following link: http://www.sidekickoffroad.com/kopl.htm

They do a group of 50 boys on Saturday with the men driving and 50 girls on Sunday with the women driving. While the men are driving on Saturday the women are preparing lunch and the goodie bags for the boys. And on Sunday, the men do this while the women are driving. They need 50 male drivers for Saturday and 50 female drivers for Sunday. This year, they are not allowed to have anyone ride in the back seat.

If you can not volunteer time, they need money and goodie bag donations.

The Anaheim YMCA and the Anaheim CALPAL (California Police Activities League) will be bringing 50 lovely young ladies (ages 8-12) to the Big Bear Discovery Center for a day of fun, education and a rewarding adventure.
Your job, if you choose to volunteer, will be to drive one of these lucky ladies on a predesignated trail (Holcomb Valley 3N16) for an hour long ride that these gals won't soon forget!
They love the fresh air, the dust, the trees, the bumps and bounces, and of course chatting with their girlfriends on the CB's!!

We need you! The girls need you!
Grab your rig, grab your husbands rig (tell him you're taking it to the car wash!), borrow your neighbors rig for the day, and come up and join us at this year's Kids On Public Lands event at the Big Bear Discovery Center on Sunday September 21.

And if you're available on Saturday September 20 we could use your help with the event while the guys are escorting the boys through the forest.

A delicious lunch will be provided for all of the volunteers both Saturday and Sunday, with a $10 BIG BBQ dinner and raffle on Saturday night.

You can find the KOPL Volunteer Registration form at:

(NOTE: the fax number has changed to 801-998-2902) Fill it out and fax it in at your earliest convenience!

    Thank you!
