  • Superstition Mountain

Last run of the spring. Desert is starting to heat up it was flat 100's.

Superstition mountain is a micro JV. Same problems. Marines want JV..Navy wants Superstitions..

Superstitions has one side blow sand and the other side sharp nasty notches that climb to the top.

This shot has a water fall behind me. I jumped up the fall a little fast and the trail turned left quickly.I kept climbing.

Oh My God THAT Rocks! I've been wanting to get down to that area. Thanks for the warning on the heat. May wait til fall now.

Is the area an open OHV or are the trails designated? Looks open from your pics.

Speaking of pics, you have some great ones in your link. I like these two especially:

Great Post! I'd like to check it out for myself sometime.

I too would love to get out there. I have heard so much about it, and its pretty much the only area that is not checked off my list o' trails to go to. Awesome pics! Looks like a blast!

The area is pretty much open for anything. Theres some restricted stuff on the back side from un exploded Navy stuff.

This is definitely a great area! I've been there twice with the Capo Valley 4 Wheelers, and there are some really cool parts down there! Thanks for sharing the pics!

Surely, you dont mean me and my little d35, Barbie Doll jeep, as shown here.....doing the rock 'Rat Patrol' suffered abuse on. Of course, the trail is dry when I mastered it, but I am still going to glote over it.

                      B,
Thats Sidewinder an ole Gene Autry trail...not Superstition. BTY we layed out tracks on Bronco, an off shoot trail about 1/2 mile of rock crawl. Got the first approval . Looks like the trail build may happen in the fall if the other 2 studies go.. That will add a good twist to Bronco.

                          Heres a pic.

Have the other Bob , Kurt and another person who broke an axel. Trail started out with about 8 rigs.

Erik, Brian, Other Bob and Myself finished. Kurt I think helped out the one with the broken axel. Kurt he's spooled out in this shot. Bad chunk of canyon.

Yes, I remember this day well. Wish I would have finished this trail. It was a blast. I couldn't beleive the way that axle broke. I got stuck getting him un stuck. Still had fun. Thanks again Vern.
