  • A little Fun in the Sun!

I couldn't sit home just because the others canceled this morning, so I headed out for a easy putt to Wrightwood and visited friends on the way. Went out west on Hwy 138 to Llano and took Fort Tejon Road up to Jackson Lake, then to and through Wrightwood. Played around Mormon Rocks and Cajon Pass area and back up 3N45 to Oak Hills. Fun picnic trip that any high clearence vehicle could do.

        Mitch!

...We missed ya again! Cool pics. We were just up there too the weekend before, there is a trailhead just west of Jackson Lake, goes behind the YMCA camp and up to Pinyon Ridge. We could not make it all they way thru because of one snow drift to big across the trail. I was doing some scouting for a hunting club that is working on the guzzlers up there that haven't had maintenance for a real LONG time. Will be trying to get up there again soon.

BTW, the your Jeep is lookin NICE!!!!

              Steeevo,

Jackson Lake is a couple of miles west of Wrightwood. There is a nice picnic area and the lake is stocked with trout. The lake is interesting in that it sits right on top of the San Andreas fault.

                  Jimmy,

There are camp grounds in the area, but no camping at Jackson. The lake is small and I've seen float tubes fishing. Due to the elevation I'm sure the water is going to be cold for a while. As far as cost, it's day use with an Adventure Pass.
