  • Frazier Park Snow Run

    Just throwing it out there.
A group of us 4 jeeps and a couple of Yodas is looking for some snow.
We are hooking up at the Flying J in Frazier Park having breakfast at 8:00am and then heading out at 8:30 am for some fun and white stuff.
    All are always welcome.

Frazier mountain trail is pretty fun, just call the ranger before and check if its open. but it'll take you all the way up to 8000 feet and there really wasn't any hard hills for even stoke jeeps.

            Trip Report.
Total of 3 Jeeps showed up from Pt Mugu and a Member of Pirate 4x4 .
We enjoyed breakfast until 9 at the buffet at Flying Js until 9.
            Then we headed out.
Down to Frazier Park we went found a trail entrance that wasnt closed and headed up this was a trail to several 4x4 Camps. I was trailboss and the snow was Deep! I made iup most of the way. Ron the member from Pirate was opened diff'd and had problems going up the trail was semi steep and we decided to back down and turn around. Danny and myself were full locked and could of made it up but it was what it was.
We decided to go to BC109 off of Lockwood Valley rd. It was a great choice!it was just beautiful! headed into Dome springs camp and realized it was not driven into since last snow fall VIRGIN Snow it was great! Did some tree removal from the trail. It nice to have winches! and continued on.We headed into Dome Springs camp and then we dropped down into the riverbottom and played on the rocks and snow for a while. We found a drop off into a lower part of the canyon and wheeled it down and back up.It ended up to be a MUD run! We all decided to head back to Dome Springs and had a hot lunch. I brought my small weber gas grill and a supply Hot hot links and Ball Parks! we ate lunch and decided to head out at 2:30 we aired up and headed home Great Day. No breakage or Carnage.

no carnage? then it couldn't have been a wheeling trip.

I was went up to frazier park to play in the snow the sunday before (1/28), the road to mt pinos was closed but I managed to find a dirt road around it. Went down the miller jeep trail main entrance road and it was unplowed with pretty deep snow. Over 2 feet in some places. Got to the first creek but the gate was closed on the other side, so I just played around on the road. Good times I love the snow!
