I see this every time this crowd (MyJeepRocks) goes on this trail and it makes me sick. You guys don't know how hard local clubs have fought to keep that trail open and you certainly don't seem to appreciate it. Thanks for making their efforts more difficult.

    • The last two MJR trips through that canyon resulted in inappropriate pictures posted of the event. This being rigs clearly off of the trail and abusing the terrain. When photographic evidence is provided I call it like it is. Some of this pictures that were posted earlier have already been pulled down.

There is supposed to be a single trail in the canyon. The "bonus lines" that have been pictured are not the trail. The trail also crosses the mud hole at the end obstructed by debris. We should not be seeing pictures of guys running the full length of this mud hole.

I'm willing to bet of the 26 rigs that traversed this trail that 90% were responsible. But according to the pictures not everyone was. Creating bonus lines in unrestricted areas is fine and dandy, but Nightmare Gulch is a protected area and should be treated as such.

        • I think for someone who wasn't there and the fact that 90% of the rocks on that canyon looks the same... you sure so a whole hell of alot of talking...

Quit whining and let us enjoy our trip, instead of making a big deal about something that you weren't a part of and didn't see it first hand.

On that note, i'll post pictures later after i hose donw my engine haha.

          • The pic of the jeep in the water hole was not trying a new line across rather he fell back in trying to exit the water/mud. The driver backed up and exit ok. This run was lead by my club HD4W cal 4 wheel. Please do not judge the group by a picture taken of a rig that fell off line. MJR is a great group of people

What the hell is this guy talking about? Who are you to be Mr. patrol guy. Are you such an expert on these trails that you know that for sure? No pictures have been pulled, cause most of us are still posting them!!!! And besides, there were about three or more groups that ended up together, but what does that matter to you, you know what happened, you were there, right?

And what 'other trips' have we posted that show ANY of us 'abusing' the land? Do you stop in the middle of highway also? There are times when you have to pull to the side for other vehicles, or quads or to eat. You do eat, right?

There was only one way through the mud hole...and if anyone was making their own 'lines' through the hole, it was the three or four dirtbikes that got stuck cause they couldn't wait for us to go through,CAREFULLY!!

Get off this forum and let us enjoy our trip, and stop looking at this website if you feel like we are 'part of the problem', as we are far from it.

I should have stated "The last two trips posted on MJR." I didn't intend to imply that MJR members were the ones taking the bonus lines. MJR just happened to be the forum were the trip was advertised and reported on. I have now idea who the guys off the trail are affiliated with. More importantly, this is an extremely sensitive area and we don't need to give our opponents any more ammunition to use against us in our fight to keep the area open.

I am no expert here but that does look like it is part of the trail. Most of the trails i have been on there are what i would call alternate lines for bigger rigs and easier obstacles for bigger rigs, that looks like he took the extra credit line. Like at Calico there are bigger rocks for the bigger rigs to drive over and smaller rocks for the smaller rigs to drive over.
i wonder about the trails for Johnson Valley ?

                        • This is what you are concerned about???
I thought he was talking like someone went off the trail, like made their own route....
How could you possibly be complaining about this? That's not why our trails are closing....It's people like you who think that's abusing....The trails are closing because of trash, and people going way off course, and just plain politics. This is not even close!!
How do you know that the rain the entire week before didn't wash it in the way, and others were just lucky to be able to squeeze by it, instead of over it?? The whole wash part of the trail happened to be like that.

What is your point? Lay off already, and take this to another forum where others like you can join in....
But not here, we want to be able to enjoy the trip we had and with your constant whining about :poop:, it's getting a little ridiculous....

Pull your head out or either get some plexiglass inserted where your belly button is so that you can really see. That is the trail.
