Pleasant Canyon is awesome. The whole area is very cool to explore. Try searching the Trail Discussion threads for some info. The link to the trail report when we went is here:

I did it about 3 years ago.really nice trip.We stayed at an adopt a cabin up pleasant cyn(world beater mine cabin).the fire place in the cabin was working at that time.I'd do it again, enjoy.

There are alot of neat things to see out in Death Valley. If you're going to stay on the Panamint side check out:
Jail Canyon
Surprise Canyon
Pleasant Canyon (World beater mine and free to use cabin)
If you take Striped Butte through to the other side of the mountains check out:
Barker Ranch (Manson family cabin)
Warm Springs (free to use cabins)
Plus there's alot more stuff to see and do out there.
Bring a camera!

Last spring, we were with about 25 rigs that did the Pleasant Canyon/South Park loop. About 26 miles in all. Very nice! We had lunch at Rogers Pass...chilly, but again, nice. I'd recommend going UP Pleasant Canyon, and DOWN South Park, otherwise, South Park could give some rigs a bit of trouble.
