  • The Desert Jewel's Birthday Run

Finally! My birthday falls on a Saturday and not on Superbowl weekend!!! Woohoo!!!

I really would like to go up Doran and then do whatever else fancies everyone. I have been down Doran a couple of times, but never up it. If the weather is warmer, I will plan on camping Saturday night so I can party too!!:haha:

Meet at Del Taco off of Lenwood & the 15 fwy in Barstow at 8:00 am. We'll get a bite to eat and then head out to Calico around 8:30ish.

Yeah, Desert Jewel is gonna spank that trail! (or the trail is gonna spank her!) LOL!

properly motivated by the right amount of Tequila, I'm sure camping will be involved....

I just ran Doran today. Gonna be in Calico again in February for the clean-up. So, I'm not really wanting to do Calico for my birthday too....don't want to get Calico'd out

Sorry to back out on the few of you thinking about going

Do we want to go mild or wild? Lots of choices either way.

Theres some pretty varied stuff in like dove springs, or you could always go to last chance... i know its kinda like what you guys do alot but just throwing out ideas.
I'd say Miller but it is a little short for a full day thing and its getting real cold at night haha.

I personally wanna see if there are any good trails in mammoth, or that area, its far but i just love it up there haha!

Death Valley, Borrego, Ladder Canyon, Stoddard, Rainbow, Last Chance, Miller, Lake Isabella... All fairly mild, all within reasonable driving distance for all.
