According to yahoo weather, it's 44 and raining. Looks like it's not cold enough right now to be snow, so if the storm is done being wet by this evening, there probably won't be any snow at all. Resorts are closed. We have a "temperature inversion layer" (my geeky pilot friend says).
If we aren't supposed to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?

      Paul,
Never get burned out on BB. I just spend more time in the desert in the winter months. Looks like I'll be in Lake Los Angeles this Sunday. May take Monday off and go explore Calico or Rainbow, who knows?
Be safe and splash some mud for me...

            Hey! I've got Monday off....

oh! and carb is tuned (mostly, still having some "sticking" issues with the choke) and she's purrrrring along right now. Gonna go load up the spare axles and diff gears, tools, extra fuel, water (don't think we'll be lacking for it), etc.

I just busted my ViAir hose...dammit.

I've got air... don't let that be the reason you don't show tomorrow!

I think we're good as far as chains. Does anyone have a number for BBear road conditions?

No-no...It wouldn't be. I'd just refill at a gas station if it came to that.

As of now, still coming. Only thing that would stop me now is:

Unlucky bolt of lightining, extremely deep snow, bubonic plague, attacked by buffalo. Or any combination of those.

FYI, I just heard (unofficially) that the 18 is closed due to rock slides. Be careful getting up there everybody!

looking more like 9am for me to be there. Barb I'm not sure about. She's concerned about mud slides on the trail.

Hey Paul & Mat, Barb and I just got home. As soon as I thaw out I'll get some pictures posted! THANKS for a great time on the trail today, if it weren't for that big damn tree....

So made it up there (via the 38) , nothing said about chains until I hit a nice ice patch, got sideways, stopped, then noticed a bunch of 2wd cars sprawled accross the road to include some sort of SUV over the side. A small pick up that somehow threw his bead. So I pulled over and aired down to get better traction and just creeped the rest of the way til I got to Fawnskin, seeing plenty of casualties along the way. So long story short 3 jeeps, open difs, snow, no Bull. Made it to the top of Gold Mountain, past the rock garden, which was a blast in the snow (started blizzarding toward the top) then came upon a huge tree that had fallen accross the road. Was friggin' cold, no way around the tree especially without lockers. No one had a winch which may have been able to pull it to the side. So we turned around and made our way back. Still had a good time, I love it when it snows up there. Had a blast with you guys, can't wait to do it again, LOCKERS!
