  • Petition for: Semi-Primitive BackCountry Recreation Designation

    (reposted from another forum)

The link below is for a petition re: access to Public lands-- those places we drive our trucks.
Please take a moment to look it over.

If you feel so inclined, please sign the petition to Show Your Support for Semi-Primitive BackCountry Recreation Designation.

"There are some things you just cannot put a price on, the annual family camping trip to that remote spot at the end of the forest road, mountain biking with your friends in the backcountry, trail bike riding on primitive forest trails, fishing with your child at your dad’s favorite spot, 4x4ing up that old logging road to your secret hunting camp."

"Of course the key to enjoying all these special times is access to your public lands."

"Wouldn’t it be great if there were a way to ensure your grandchildren are able to enjoy all the same special places?"

"There is a way & it is called Semi-Primitive BackCountry Recreation Designation. It will preserve access to Public Lands for Future Generations. Ensure your grandkids are still able to ride a trail bike on existing forest trails to your favorite remote mountain lake. Ensure disabled people can reasonably access the backcountry on ATV’s or 4x4’s using designated trails."

"Semi-Primitive BackCountry Recreation Designation will promote greater biodiversity by allowing active management under the strictest regulations in the world. Preserve access for all types of recreation & thereby provide greater tourism income for local economies, as well as jobs for renewable resource harvesting & thinning projects to keep the land healthy & reduce wildfire fuel."

"What a great legacy to leave for our kids. Providing them with access to their public lands through all forms of recreation, while ensuring better forest health. Let’s make sure they can refresh & recharge by getting out in the backcountry. Sign the petition below to let your legislators know you want the BackCountry preserved for public access & management."
