Fairly safe - I'm just cutting and pasting
Quick update on the status of the Forest Roads network:
3N34 Dishpan Springs - Between Tent Peg and Deep Creek. The bridge
crossing Deep Creek suffered considerable damage during the near
record storms last year, undermining both the east and west aprons of
the bridge. The apron on the west end of the bridge has been
repaired. Plans are underway to repair the east apron right now. As
soon as this is repaired I will get the word out.
1N34 San Sevine - This road remains out of service between Rancho
Cucamonga and the Joe Elliot Camprground due to severe rock slides in
two canyons. There is no estimated date to reopen the road.
2N45 Above Cottonwood Fire Station - This road is out of service due
to a major washout at the first creek crossing. This road will be
repaired this winter. Alternative access is via 2N59 and 2N49.
2N40 Cloudland Truck Trail - This road remains closed between the
Hang Glider jumpoff and Cal State for fire rehabilitation.
Rememeber with winter just around the corner, be prepared for winter
travel on paved and non-paved roads. The conditions can change
rapidly in a very short period of time.
